Shoe Style Tips :: Discount MBT Shoes Discount MBT Shoes: A Review of Discount Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) Shoes

Discount MBT shoes should be banned. These $329 shoes not only look unattractive, but they’re uncomfortable and grossly overpriced. To learn why these shoes are getting such a bad review, keep reading. How MBT Shoes Work When you buy a pair of full-priced or discount MBT footwear, you’re buying into the idea that a curved sole running shoe made by Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) can actually relieve joint pain, improve muscle conditioning and burn calories. Basically, imagine cutting a tennis ball or small rubber ball in half and then gluing it, curved side out, to the bottom of your running shoes. The rolling sensation and resulting effect is pretty similar to the MBT Shoe design. MBT says that the discount MBT shoes force you to straighten your pelvis, stand straighter and burn more calories. In fact, after wearing them for 10-15 minutes, you should actually start to “feel the burn.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my shoes to burn, particularly not at $329 a pair. The MBT Buzz Discount MBT shoes started gaining buzz as a cellulite-buster after British fans latched on to them as a way to walk, firm up their legs and banish cellulite. But, despite all the fanfare, there is no scientific data that can back up this claim that MBT shoes can get rid of cellulite. There is, however, a small amount of data that suggests the shoes can relieve joint loading on the knees and hips, particularly when compared to conventional running shoes. That reduced load could mean reduced pain. However, company representatives are too quick to point out that this data is strictly anecdotal at this time. A study done at the University of Calgary also found that MBT shoe wearers consumed 2.5 percent more oxygen than their normal-shoe counterparts. Could that be because these clunky monstrosities weigh a ton? Or could it be that they force the wearer into such discomfort that their breath quickens with every painful step? Thanks to their initial buzz and fanfare, MBT has expanded its product line to include two casual versions of both a men’s and women’s shoes along with a sandal model. Both styles are equally offensive. The MBT Reality On top of being scientifically unfounded and uncomfortable to wear, MBT shoes are hideous. They’re clunky monstrosities that will get you more stares, but not the kind you’re looking for. These shoes are the furthest thing from stylish since Tevas. The reality is that you’re going to see a lot more discount MBT shoes in the clearance bins of your specialty shoe stores. When a company has to start including instruction manuals with its shoes, things are not boding well. See also: All Site Articles for Shoe Style Tips
